Well, once again, I'm off to London and this time, I'm taking my laptop with me, so I can easily check my internet stuff daily and see how everyone is. Along with that, I could play any online games me, my sister and her boyfriend wish to play, but remember, NO WORLD OF WARCRACK! However, Team Fortress 2 would be good or anything else they have in mind. :)

Anything else we have in mind when I'm there? Nothing different from the last few trips there, but we'll be going to Oxford Street on the Saturday and go somewhere to eat for the Sunday evening. In Oxford Street, I should be able to spend the rest of my HMV vouchers, so I can't wait until then. :) There's a lot of CDs in mind right now, so I'll know which ones to look out for when I'm there.

Final Fantasy VII

Right now, I'm playing FFVII. I started playing this 2 weeks ago and right now, I'm at the end of disc 1. This time through the game, I decided to do something different by trying to get the date scene with Barret in the Gold Saucer. I succeeded and what I got was a fucking hilarious scene! I'd tell you what happens, but incase you haven't, I recommend seeing it. :) I'm hoping to complete this game before Christmas, but I'll see how I do over the next 4 weeks.

The Simpsons

Remember when I previously mentioned a Top 25 Worst Simpsons episodes? Well, I've finally considered doing it and now, I'm going through every single episode starting from season 15. This will be one hell of a long torture, but I wish to get through this and create the list. However, incase there's so much suckage in the last remaining episodes of season 20, the list will not be published until the season finale. I know I'll be waiting a while before I can get it done, but just incase the writers do something else so bad that you wish to beat up everyone who's keeping this franchise alive. So far, I'm not even halfway through season 15 and I'm already finding this to be an awful task. *sigh* 100 or so episodes to go.

Stickam chat

Last Thursday, I was introduced to Stickam by BatDan and I've been having a lot of fun in the Newgrounds chatroom. Not only I've been enjoying all the topics discussed in there, I'm liking the feature of multiple users using live video at once. Yes, I've been using MY webcam a lot here and it's great! :D

There are several downfalls for Stickam, the main one being the amount of bugs on that site. We've had to change chat rooms THREE TIMES because of the fucking issues we've encountered. In one room, there were too many users who were stuck in the chat room and couldn't be kicked out no matter what and the other one ended up glitching itself and no-one was able to enter the chat. The third was the same as the first and now we're on our fourth chat room! Seriously, this site has more bugs than fucking MySpace, but I'm still going there for the NG chat room.

My only other complaint about the site is the MySpace-esque users we get. All of them are of no use to the place, but at least we can kick them out assuming there's no glitch. However, these kicks only last an hour rather than it being permanent, so some troll can keep re-entering the room spamming up the place all the time. It'd be more convenient if we were able to keep them off the chat room for good.

Besides the issues, I still like it. :)

GameFAQs' Character Battles

Some of you probably agree with me already, but GameFAQs Character Battles are a load of fucking shit! Whenever you go to GameFAQs, you will see a poll on top of the front page. You may want to contribute to the poll by choosing your desirable option. That's fine, but then you see this atrocity known as Character Battle, which goes on for a month or two every year. The idea itself isn't too bad, but when you see how it goes on this site, you'll realise how fucking ridiculous it truly is.

First, let's have a look at the winners for all the Character Battles so far:

Character Battle II - Cloud Strife
Character Battle III - Link
Character Battle IV - Mario
Character Battle V - Samus Aran
Character Battle VI - L-Block

And for the latest Character Battle, Link (AGAIN)! Now I'll agree that the winning characters are very reasonable considering they're video game icons. I mean, besides non-gamers, who doesn't know Link, Mario or Cloud? These are some of the most popular characters in video game history, but what really pisses me off is how these tournaments consist of nothing but extremely well known characters. Link has won three character battles now and really, other characters deserve to have the spotlight on them. If they keep Link and the other winning characters on future Character Battles, there's no way in hell we'll get others characters winning for once, unless it was some stupid ass "character" like L-Block.

Now L-Block as the winning character of Character Battle VI....Someone tell me, how the fuck is L-Block even a character?! I don't even consider it a character AT ALL, and this is a Character Battle, not an Object Battle. If you're gonna add "characters" such as L-Block and Weighted Companion Cube, then why not add other ridiculous shit such as mushrooms, pong balls, Chaos emeralds and Rick Astley while you're at it?! There are so many other ridiculous "characters" you could to the Character Battles, it's not even funny.

Do you know what's even sadder? These "characters" actually get far in the tournament. Seriously, look how far L-Block and Weighted Companion Cube went. L-Block got past the first two rounds, while Cube reached the quarter-finals. If they're considered as characters under GameFAQs' standards, they shouldn't have advanced further than the first round, but no, idiots like to vote them "for teh lulz!!!1" and then you see perfectly legitimate characters such as Kefka, Crash Bandicoot and Donkey Kong knocked out in the first fucking round!!

Someone tell me, besides internet meme influences, how on earth did something like Weighted Companion Cube beat Donkey Kong and Tails in the first round? To me, it makes no fucking sense, especially how Donkey Kong and Tails, two well known video game characters get beaten by something absurd (NOTE: I've yet to play Portal and may not get the Cube joke, but it's still not an actual character). Although Kefka wasn't against anything stupid, I still find it sad that he was out in the first round.

Really, with these "characters" entering these tournaments, legitimate characters have been left out in favour for them. Which characters, you might ask? Let me name 10 video game characters that could have made the cut for Character Battle VII, but aren't there:

Dr. Neo Cortex
Ecco the Dolphin
Jin Kazama
Lara Croft
Locke Cole
Pokemon Trainer
Pyramid Head
Spyro

There, 10 characters and all from different game franchises to each other. I'll admit, some of the characters I mentioned may not be brilliant in your opinion and not all the characters can fit in considering they had only 128 spaces, but at least they're more legitimate than a fucking Tetris block!

Have I mentioned the worst part about GameFAQs' Character Battles? No I haven't! For these tournaments, GameFAQs gives out prizes for those who make the most correct predictions on which characters will win for each and every battle. So what do you get for winning this contest?

MONEY!!!

That's right, money! Out of all the ways money can be given out, this is without a doubt one of the worst. Seriously, you don't even need to predict who'll get through each round, you KNOW who's going to get through the battles with ease. This is as bad as giving dumbass chavs entitlement to EMA £30 a week.

Oh, and to take the fucking piss out of Link winning for the third or so time, GameFAQs decided to make one more Character Battle poll by adding all four different forms of Link, which are Classic, Young, Toon and CD-i Link. Do I even need to say anything about the last one? The sad thing is, CD-i Link is in second place and it's all because of 20000 or so YouTube Poop morons. Seriously, if you voted for CD-i Link, FUCK YOU! I don't even see the amusement in the CD-i Zelda games, most especially the horrendous voice acting. It's so bad, I hear better voice acting in 4kids dubs, and that's saying something! Anyway, I'm at least glad Classic Link is winning in this stupid poll.

Maybe I'm taking an online poll too seriously, but when:

A) False characters enter these tournaments;
B) False characters beat perfectly legitimate characters;
C) One character wins more than once, especially Link;
D) This is supposed to reflect opinions on all the gamers who vote;
E) The polls are overrun by fanboys;
F) You win money by predicting who's going to win each battle;
G) Other reasons

YOU KNOW THERE'S SOMETHING FUCKING WRONG!!!

If I were to make my own Video Game Character contest, here's what my regulations would be:

1. They have to be actual characters, NOT objects.
2. Up to five characters per franchise.
3. When one character wins, they will not appear on any future contests, so others have a better chance at winning.
4. No money involved in any way!
5. Although GameFAQs has this rule, no rigging the votes by using proxies to vote for your favourite character hundreds of times.

Yep, that's five simple rules for a Character Battle I'd make. I'd love to make one that's a million times better than GameFAQs', but unfortunately, there might be a lack of interest. The best way to see how many would like to see an alternative Character Battle tournament would be to create a petition and see how many people sign up for it. Anyway, that's enough of GameFAQs (or LameFAQs or GameFAGs).
